Staff of local authorities can now also lease bikes!
Leasing a bike in a tax-efficient way was not possible for staff of local authorities for a long time. Recently, they have been able to use their end-of-year bonus or extra vacation days to lease a bike. Public administrations such as Nazareth and Merchtem have already implemented a bike leasing plan with Cyclobility. We are convinced that many public authorities will soon follow, now that bike leasing can also be offered as part of a flexible remuneration package.
Flexible remuneration
Employees of local authorities usually live at an ideal cycling distance from work. We therefore notice that the demand for a bike leasing plan among employees of municipalities, OCMWs, provinces and welfare associations is very high. Until now, they were not able to benefit from flexible remuneration. According to the article of 12 May 2021 in De Tijd, this regulation only came into force in mid-April 2021. Local authorities can now autonomously decide whether their staff can participate in a bike leasing plan. Each employee may individually decide whether or not they want a leased bike. It is therefore still far too early to analyse how many authorities will take this up. According to Flemish Minister of Home Affairs, Bart Somers, many staff members will opt in.
Cyclobility lease package
Cyclobility always offers a full package. All leased bikes are fully insured, maintenance and all repairs are included, the bikes are delivered to your home, and all bikes can be tested during test events or in one of Cyclobility’s test centres. In this way, we provide complete peace of mind for both the cyclist and the local authorities. In addition to bikes, commuting accessories can also be leased, such as high-quality bike bags, durable rainwear, helmets, etc. Cyclobility is a bike shop , repair centre and leasing company under one roof, with a strong passion for cycling!
