IVVO Bike Hero Wins €200!
In 2020, waste management company IVVO launched a bike leasing plan. Their goal is to motivate employees to exercise more while reducing Co2 emissions. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the company's employees covered a total of 28,440 cycling kilometers last year, accounting for 1,766 trips with their lease bikes. This equates to a reduction of 3.41 tons of Co2 emissions.
All employees can lease a bicycle if they commute to work by bike for at least 20% of their working days. Those who rack up a lot of cycling kilometers can even earn a little extra from their lease bike. IVVO increased the bicycle allowance to the legal maximum of €0.24 per kilometer. Someone covering 20km by bike every workday can accumulate €96 tax-free per month this way. On top of this, IVVO makes an extra effort for those who cycle their commute more than 50 days a year; they stand a chance to win a €200 voucher. In 2020, one-third of all employees qualified for this. Marino Volckaert was one of those seasoned commuters who pedaled to work on his Thompson Enigma for more than 50 days a year. Bike Leasing
