PRESS RELEASE: Cyclobility raises more than 3 million euros through co-financing
Regenero Impact Fund is making a significant investment in Cyclobility’s capital. Regenero Impact Fund is a collaboration between the Belgian bank Degroof Petercam and the Swiss impact investor Quadia. They have extensive experience in sustainable investments in food, energy efficiency, the circular economy and soft mobility. Cyclobility is the fund’s first Belgian investment. Together with a new credit line from Triodos Bank, this results in a budget of more than 3 million euros that will be invested in the further expansion of the bike fleet, stores, IT and team.
Cyclobility has been leasing bikes to companies for their employees’ home-to-work commute for 5 years. In this way, we aim to make an impact on mobility, our living environment and the environment. Our services go beyond simply leasing high-quality (electric) bikes . We optimally support and advise our clients’ HR departments and handle the maintenance and repairs of our entire bike fleet ourselves. We visit company sites and homes for test events, repairs and maintenance. We do this not only for our lease customers, but also for private individuals. We combine a digital platform, three physical stores and a mobile service across Belgium. To date, our customers cycle a total of 5 million kilometers each year. But we want more!
Gautier Bataille de Longprey, Group Head of Business at Degroof Petercam, is very proud to participate in Cyclobility’s fundraising. They also 100% believe in the future of soft mobility through bike leasing. This investment reflects their vision of responsible financing.
Cyclobility is the third investment of the Regenero fund in this sector in Europe. Josep Segarra, Investment Manager at Quadia , will work together with Cyclobility and our suppliers to make the offering even more global and impactful in the future. The ambition of Andries Aumann, CEO and founder of Cyclobility, is to reach the target of 10,000 leased bikes by 2024 and to open multiple stores in Belgium. We aim to roll out the “full-service” model across the entire country. Thanks to this model, the bike can truly be used as a sustainable and affordable alternative to the car.
Thanks to the investment of more than 3 million euros from Triodos and the Regenero fund, Cyclobility can realize its planned growth.
