  • Als je een plooifiets vaak moet optillen om bijvoorbeeld met de trein te pendelen of een andere vorm van openbaar vervoer, dan heeft het gewicht natuurlijk een belangrijke invloed op je aankoop. Een lichte plooifiets, bijvoorbeeld de Birdy van Riese & Müller, weegt ongeveer 12kg. De Vektron S10, een elektrisch model van Tern, weegt bijvoorbeeld 22kg.

  • Prijzen van plooifietsen kunnen heel sterk variëren. Je moet rekening houden met het soort aandrijvingsysteem, de zitpositie (sportief of comfortabel), het aantal kinderen dat je wil vervoeren,… Voor een goede plooifiets moet je zeker rekening houden met een budget van 2500 euro. Ga je elektrisch, dan kan de prijs nog oplopen.

  • Ja, je kunt een nieuwe vouwfiets kopen met de renteloze fietslening van Cyclobility.

  • Ja, ook een tweedehands speed pedelec moet je opnieuw inschrijven bij de DIV. Vraag zeker naar het inschrijvingsbewijs en het gelijkvormigheidsattest bij de verkoper van de fiets. Deze documenten heb je nodig om de tweedehands speed pedelec in te schrijven.

  • Je kunt de nummerplaat van je speed pedelec gratis afgeven in elk postkantoor. Je ontvangt dan een schrappingsattest waarop je kenteken staat en de afgiftedatum.

  • Met een elektrische fiets doe je ongeveer 17 minuten over een traject van 7 kilometer. Dit kan iets meer of minder zijn afhankelijk van je traject en de weersomstandigheden.

  • Ja, het is mogelijk om een lening voor een speed pedelec af te sluiten. Doordat wij de rente van de lening op ons nemen, kunnen wij de goedkoopste speed pedelec lening aanbieden.

  • Een cafetariaplan biedt werkgevers de mogelijkheid om werknemers een gepersonaliseerd loonpakket aan te bieden zonder dat de totale loonkosten stijgen. Dit wordt bereikt door een deel van het loon te flexibiliseren. Het flexibele deel kan bijvoorbeeld bestaan uit het gedeelte van het brutoloon dat boven het barema uitkomt of de eindejaarspremie.

    Met dit flexibele deel van het loon kunnen werknemers zelf kiezen uit een reeks voordelen die door de werkgever zijn vastgesteld. Deze voordelen omvatten opties zoals extra vakantiedagen, pensioensparen of een lease fiets. Een fietsleaseplan kan dus een onderdeel zijn van een cafetariaplan.

  • Fietsleasing heeft een minimale impact op je pensioen: bij de berekening van je pensioen wordt gekeken naar het brutoloon dat je aan het einde van je loopbaan verdient. Als je ervoor kiest om via je werkgever een fiets te leasen door middel van een maandelijkse brutoloonruil, is het begrijpelijk dat je brutoloon iets lager zal zijn. De nadelen van fietsleasing zijn beperkt als je het vergelijkt met de vele voordelen.

    Een kleine kanttekening die we zeker willen meegeven: deze nieuwe verplichting is alleen van toepassing als binnen het paritair comité of de onderneming nog geen collectieve arbeidsovereenkomst bestaat die voorziet in een fietsvergoeding.

    CAO 164 is dus suppletief. De reeds bestaande CAO fietsvergoeding (op sector- of ondernemingsvlak) blijft dus van toepassing zelfs bij een lager bedrag.

  • Een fietsvergoeding is vrijgesteld van belastingen en sociale bijdragen voor zolang het niet boven een bepaald bedrag per km uitkomt. Vanaf 1 januari 2023 is de fietsvergoeding belastingvrij tot 0,27 euro per kilometer. Krijg je een hogere kilometervergoeding, dan ben je belast op wat daar bovenop komt.

    Het schoolbestuur heeft echter de optie om als werkgever rechtstreeks een fietsleaseovereenkomst aan te gaan met een fietsleasemaatschappij en de voorwaarden daarvan te bespreken met het personeel. Als dit pad wordt bewandeld, zal de bijdrage voor het leasen van de fiets losstaan van het salaris van de leerkracht, dat wordt uitbetaald door het Agentschap voor Onderwijsdiensten (AGODI). Hierdoor heeft fietsleasing op dit moment geen fiscale voordelen voor mensen die werkzaam zijn in het onderwijs.

  • Ja, het is zeker mogelijk om een fietsband te hard op te pompen. Dit kan heel wat negatieve gevolgen hebben. Wanneer een fietsband te veel druk bevat, gaat dit ten koste van het rijcomfort, vooral op oneffen paden. Bovendien verhoogt een te hoge bandenspanning het risico op een klapband, vooral bij hoge temperaturen of op ruwe wegen, omdat de band minder flexibel is en minder goed in staat is om schokken te absorberen. Daarnaast kan een overmatig opgepompte band leiden tot snellere slijtage van zowel de band zelf als de velg.

  • De bandenspanning vind je meestal op de zijwand van de fietsband zelf. De bandenspanning wordt vaak weergegeven in een reeks getallen, gevolgd door de eenheid 'PSI' (pounds per square inch) of 'bar'.

  • Binnen de bebouwde kom mag een speed pedelec op de rijbaan rijden, tenzij hij verplicht is het fietspad te volgen. Speed pedelec bestuurders moeten rekening houden met verkeersborden met het symbool van een bromfiets en de letter P (die staat voor speed pedelecs).

    Ook op gemengde fietspaden met de borden D9 of D10 moeten speed pedelecs op de rijbaan rijden en mogen ze het fietspad niet gebruiken. Het is dus perfect mogelijk dat je binnen de bebouwde kom een speed pedelec tussen het autoverkeer op de rijbaan ziet rijden.

  • Ja, je kunt geflitst worden met een speed pedelec. Volgens de wegcode valt een speed pedelec onder de bromfietsen. Bestuurders moeten zich dus ook aan de zone 30 houden. Rijd je te snel, dan kun je een boete krijgen. Omdat de fiets een nummerplaat heeft, is hij makkelijk te identificeren.

  • Een speed pedelec moet niet altijd op het fietspad rijden.

    • Op wegen waar de maximumsnelheid 50 km/u of lager is, mag je zelf kiezen of je op het fietspad of de rijbaan rijdt.
    • Op wegen waar de maximumsnelheid hoger is dan 50 km/u, is het fietspad meestal verplicht, tenzij verkeersborden anders aangeven.

    Verkeersborden met een bromfiets-symbool en de letter P kunnen aangeven of je verplicht bent om het fietspad te gebruiken of het juist niet mag gebruiken. Let dus altijd op de borden langs de weg.

  • Taxation depends on how the budget is spent, based on the three official pillars:

    • Eco-friendly company car → Taxed in the same way as a regular company car.
    • Sustainable mobility solutions (such as public transport, cycling, shared mobility, renting close to work) → fully tax-free.
    • Cash-out of remaining budget → taxed at solidarity contribution rate of 38.07%, but no additional income tax is applied.

  • The mobility budget is allocated gross, based on the total cost of your company car. How much you net out depends on your choices. Spending within pillar 2 is entirely net, while a cash payment in pillar 3 is partly taxed.

  • The amount of the mobility budget is based on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of your company car, including:

    • Lease price or depreciation
    • Fuel or electricity
    • Taxes and insurance
    • Maintenance costs

    This total amount is converted into a mobility budget that you can spend freely within the three pillars.

  • Not everyone is automatically entitled to a mobility budget.

    It depends on:

    • Your employer, as they must offer the system.

    • Limited choice: not all companies offer it, and mobility options vary by employer.
    • Cash option less advantageous: if you choose a cash payout, you will keep less net than with a company car.
    • Less suitable for frequent drivers: if you do a lot of mileage, a classic company car may be more economical.

  • It depends on how you use the mobility budget:

    • If you spend it fully in pillar 2 (sustainable mobility), then you keep 100% net.
    • If you spend part of it in pillar 3 (cash payment), a solidarity contribution of 38.07% is deducted. Suppose you have €3,000 left over in pillar 3 – you will keep around €1,860 net.

  • Bicycle leasing via the end-of-year bonus is only possible if approved by the joint committee or the sector. Currently, agreements exist in the following sectors: JC 200 (Supplementary National Joint Committee for Employees), JC 207 (Petroleum Sector), JC 310 (Banking Sector), JC 329 (Socio-cultural Sector), JC 335 (Technology and Consultancy), JC 330 (Health Institutions and Services), JC 111 (Metal Industry – Manual Workers), JC 209 (Metal Industry – Clerical Workers), and Education (education and CLB staff via the Flemish government, from 2025).

    Not every company in these sectors automatically offers bicycle leasing via the end-of-year bonus. Check with your employer or HR department to find out whether this scheme is available to you.

  • Een kettingslot is veel veiliger. Kabelsloten zijn licht, maar relatief snel door te knippen.

  • Een ART 3-slot biedt een hogere beveiligingsgraad en is vooral aangeraden voor duurdere fietsen of e-bikes die vaak in de stad staan. ART 2 is lichter en praktischer in dagelijks gebruik en vormt voor veel fietsen een goede balans tussen veiligheid en gebruiksgemak.
