Cyclobility and Café Vitesse join forces
Cyclobility and Café Vitesse join forces. Café Vitesse has bike shops in Zedelgem and Aalter that focus on sporty cyclists and commuters. Through this collaboration with Café Vitesse, Cyclobility further expands its offering of premium bike brands and technical expertise in Flanders.
Family business Café Vitesse has grown, under the wings of the younger generation, into a versatile concept. In addition to the traditional bike shop with (electric) bikes and a professional workshop, they also house a café and a training space. The training space, also known as the pain cave, has previously served as the setting for the Belgian Indoor Championship on Zwift. In both Aalter and Zedelgem, customer friendliness, technical expertise and advanced bike technology go hand in hand. In this way, the philosophy of Café Vitesse aligns perfectly with the vision and ambition of bike leasing specialist Cyclobility.
The Claeys family is no stranger to the cycling world. Alexander Claeys of Café Vitesse explains: “Our grandfather, Pol Claeys, was the owner of the Flandria factory and founder of the Flandria cycling team, the most iconic cycling team in Belgium.”
Café Vitesse is also linked to Rijwielen Galle, a well-established name in the cycling world for over a hundred years. Today, the brothers Alexander, Lorenz and Mathieu represent the fourth generation of the family business.
That passion is contagious, according to Cyclobility founder and CEO Andries Aumann . “In 2024, our paths crossed for the first time. We immediately had a good connection and quickly realized that we are complementary: Cyclobility can help professionalize their administrative and operational processes, and the brothers of Café Vitesse can help us further grow in Flanders with their technical knowledge, deep-rooted passion and extensive network.”
With the addition of Café Vitesse’s two stores, Cyclobility will be able to offer additional premium bike brands and will grow from 6 to 8 bike shops, spread across Flanders.
Andries Aumann explains why this is important: “More and more sectors are offering bike leasing to their employees, such as healthcare and education. As a result, Cyclobility is experiencing strong growth. In addition to our mobile repair service, this growing number of employees can also visit our own Cyclobility stores for technical support. Our network of bike dealers is also important. We involve them as much as possible in this story. Because the more sales and service points we can offer, the better the experience for the cyclist. And that is our goal.”
Financial details are not disclosed. The integration of Café Vitesse into Cyclobility will take place gradually.
